Everything You Need to Know About eSIM

An eSIM (Embedded SIM) is a virtual SIM card that is integrated into a mobile device. Unlike traditional physical SIM cards, eSIMs do not require a physical card to be inserted, but instead connect to networks directly through the device's internal chip.

Compared to traditional physical SIM cards, eSIMs have smaller size, higher security, more convenient switching, and better environmental friendliness. Using eSIMs can make mobile devices more compact, and allow for switching between different network operators without the need for a physical card.

After installing the eSIM purchased online for Taiwan travel, it will automatically activate upon arrival without the need for activation via phone or pre-entering activation time.

Models produced after the iPhone XS support eSIM. For Android phones, please refer to the official information provided by individual manufacturers or carriers. Alternatively, you can dial "*#06#" on your phone. If you see the terms "EID" or "ICCID", it means that the device supports eSIM.

The speed of the network is not related to eSIM. It primarily depends on the network quality of the service provider and the device's support.

eSIM has higher security than traditional physical SIM cards, as eSIM uses encryption technology for identity authentication and communication protection, which can better protect users' personal information and privacy. In addition, since eSIM does not require a physical card to be inserted, it can prevent situations where the card slot is stolen or damaged.
